Screens tire young eyes catch it early
A quick eye check at home, on your child's own phone, in about 3 minutes. CyberHasp scores it on the phone and gives you a clear result, with a 4-week trend to watch how things go
Four short steps
no clinic visit to start
Your child does the check on their phone, with a few taps and clear instructions. Good light and an arm's length of space are all it needs
Far away
A tumbling-E chart for each eye, from about 2 metres. Your child taps which way the E points
Up close
The same E at reading distance, about 40 cm, and a clock dial that can hint at blurry lines
Colour
A few colour plates, drawn by CyberHasp, to spot signs of colour vision trouble
Eye strain
Short questions about tired eyes and headaches, weighed with their screen time
A clear answer, not a chart to decode
Every check ends in one of three plain results, with what to do next
You see
- The result and two scores out of 100
- The date of each check
- Whether the camera was used
- A 4-week trend
You never see
- A picture or camera frame
- Your child's answers, one by one
- Anything from their other apps
Example results
Gentle nudges, and a version for grandparents
When screen time climbs, CyberHasp suggests a check. It never forces one
You turn it on
A parent switches it on with consent, and your child always sees that it's on and who sees the result
Eye Safe for elders
The same check in big text, every step read aloud, with the up-close test first. The result is shared only if they choose
What stays on the phone
Scored on the phone
Every test is scored on your child's phone. No outside service sees their answers
Camera only if they say yes
Optional camera notes on distance, blinking and squinting are read in memory and never saved or sent. They never change the result
Deleted when you stop
Results are deleted when Eye Safe is switched off, when consent is withdrawn or when your child leaves the family
A screening, not a diagnosis
Eye Safe can hint at a problem early. It can't replace an eye test by a professional, and a clear result doesn't mean one isn't needed
- It doesn't measure glasses power or diagnose any condition
- Poor light, a cracked screen or a rushed check can change the result
- It's switched on country by country, so it may not be available where you live yet
- If your child complains of headaches, blurry vision or sore eyes, see an eye doctor whatever the result
Parents ask
How long does a check take?
About 3 minutes. If it isn't finished, it's marked as incomplete and you can try again in good light.
What age is it for?
Children who can follow the tumbling-E game. Their age is asked once, so the result is scored for their age.
Does it need the camera?
No. The camera notes are optional, used only if your child says yes, and never stored. The check works fully without them.
Who sees the result?
You and any co-guardian with access, through the encrypted family channel. Your child sees the same result on their phone.
Is it available everywhere?
No. Eye Safe is switched on country by country. If it isn't available for your phone's country, the app says so.
Which plan includes it?
